BIC Group specializes in the design and construction of counter-current rotary kiln energy-from-waste (EfW) plants, ranging in capacity from 500,000 to 20,000,000 kcal/hr (approximately 3–120 metric tonnes per day of throughput). Our innovative systems are equipped with an effective scrubbing system that adheres to the strictest air emission standards set by the European Commission (EC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Technology Overview:
- Best Available Technology (BAT): Rotary kiln waste incineration is recognized as the Best Available Technology (BAT) for the final disposal of medical and hazardous waste. The process produces highly inert and non-leachable residues while maintaining emissions at extremely low levels.
- Counter-Current Design: In our counter-current rotary kilns, flue gases flow in the opposite direction to the waste material, promoting optimum turbulence for efficient combustion. This design ensures complete combustion and perfect ash quality, minimizing fuel consumption after start-up.
- Process Efficiency: Our systems feature PLC control systems for precise operation and automation. Despite their high performance, they are compact and require minimal space, making them suitable for various waste streams including bins, barrels, sludge injection, and liquid injection.
- Environmental Compliance: Equipped with effective scrubbing systems, our plants ensure compliance with European Union (EU) emission standards, guaranteeing environmentally friendly waste disposal.
- Energy Recovery Solutions: Leveraging our expertise, we deploy a diverse range of meticulously sourced technologies adept at efficiently converting waste into valuable energy resources, all while upholding the highest benchmarks of environmental sustainability.
Construction Challenges and Solutions:
Temperature Gradient: One of the main challenges in counter-current kiln construction is the temperature gradient across the fire door, sealing off the waste hopper from the kiln entry. BIC Group has developed specially engineered designs and leverages decades of experience to create reliable and long-lasting fire doors, overcoming this obstacle.
Proven Technology: Despite the complexity, BIC Group has mastered the construction of counter-current rotary kilns, making us a proven and reliable choice for waste-to-energy solutions.
At BIC Group, we are committed to providing cutting-edge technology and unmatched expertise to meet the evolving needs of the waste management industry. Our focus on innovation, reliability, and environmental sustainability drives us to deliver superior solutions worldwide.
